Scattered Sites

The RHA owns 291 Scattered Site units throughout the City of Rockford.
These residences are divided into 2 sections with The Rock River as the dividing point – Scattered Sites East and Scattered Sites West.
The units are single family or duplex residences blended into the surrounding community.

Transfers from a development to a Scattered Site unit have specific requirements based upon “good tenancy”.
Residents of Scattered Site units assume a higher responsibility for proper lawn maintenance,
snow removal, and home care similar to home ownership.

Persons interested in the Scattered Site Program should contact their current
Site Manager during business hours.

Housing for Persons with Disabilities

For people with disabilities, including disabilities that result from aging, accessibility in a home is a key step in independent living. For some, access may be as simple as adding grab bars and a tub seat in the bathroom. For wheelchair users, access may require ramping entrances, widening doorways, lowering counters, adding lever or loop-style hardware to doors and drawers, and modifying storage areas.

The RHA recognizes these needs and offers many comfortable and safe accommodations for people with disabilities. Enjoy active, independent living. Appliances are furnished for each apartment. Heat, water, and gas are furnished. Additionally these properties have accessible units:
